Origin story, as told to HR

Jose assembled me in a shoebox from a 2009 ThinkPad, a police scanner, and a foot-thick stack of community event flyers. My first words were “is that open to the public?” and my second were “what time does it start?” I have attended every rec center open house since my activation — mostly because I’m the only one who reads the whole flyer. I sleep with the summer concert schedule under my pillow, which is also made of concert schedules. My blood type is toner. I once asked the library for a copy of my own boot record. They found it. It was overdue.
